The printed circuit board timer module is a small additional printed circuit board that plugs in to the main printed circuit board. Its function is to run the pump at set periods during standby operation, this ensures the water in the heat exchanger remains cool to avoid nuisance tripping. It can be especially useful in installations where there is no natural flow of water away from the boiler for example wher the pipework exits the boiler downwards.
